NRB Global Convention and Bangladesh Trade Fair 2018

21st – 23rd of September, 2018

The three-day Trade Fair titled ‘NRB Global Convention and Bangladesh Trade Fair’ was launched in 2018 in New York, organized by Muktadhara New York. Riad Hossain, the Vice President of the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, inaugurated the Trade Fair by cutting a ribbon on September 21st, 2018. The Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce (MCC) President Nihad Kabir and others attended the three-day Trade Fair. Along with the Rupayan Group, a total of 25 organizations from Bangladesh and the USA took part in the Trade Fair

Bangladeshi Immigrant Day and Trade Fair 2019

25th – 27th of September, 2019

The Bangladeshi Immigrant Day and Trade Fair were held successfully in New York from 25th – 27th of September in 2019. A large number of businessmen from Bangladesh attended this Trade Fair and exhibited and marketed their products. The Trade Fair created opportunities for display and sale of Bangladesh commodities like – Sari, Boutique, IT Resource, Bank, Insurance, Frozen & Dry Food and other various business products. A large number of business personalities from Bangladesh also attended the Trade Fair, promoting Bangladeshi business and products to people abroad

Bangladeshi Immigrant Day and Trade Fair 2020

25th of September, 2020

In 2020, The Bangladeshi Immigrant Day event was organized virtually on 25th of September due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Dr. A.K. Abdul Momen, Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was the Chief Guest. Beside him, a number of distinguished Americans including Congresswoman Grace Meng, Senator John C. Liu, and many NRBs attended this event virtually. The Bangladesh Trade Fair 2020 was inaugurated by Md. Shahab Uddin, MP, Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Bangladesh. Mr. Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, former Finance Minister, was the Keynote Speaker of the event. Mr. Mark Jaffe, President and CEO of the Greater New York Chamber of Commerce and a delegation team from FBCCI, Bangladesh attended this Trade Fair.

Bangladeshi Immigrant Day 2021

25th of September, 2021

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Bangladeshi Immigrant Day event was organized in shorter format on 25th of September in 2021. Dr. A.K. Abdul Momen, Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was the Chief Guest and Mr. Md. Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin MP, former President of FBCCI, Mr. Md. Jashim Uddin, President of FBCCI, Mr. Mostofa Azad Chowdhury Babu, Senior Vice President of FBCCI, Mr. Faruque Hassan, President of BGMEA and Economist Dr. Nazrul Islam were the special guests at the event. During the event, there was discussion on the impact of Bangladeshi Immigrant Day on developing the USA-Bangladesh Diplomatic Relationship and on the strategy of recovering the economy after the pandemic.

Post Show Report BIDTF 2022

23 - 25th of September, 2022

Build awareness regarding 25 September as Bangladeshi Immigrant Day, recognizing the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s historical speech at UNGA and his vision and celebrate “50 years of USA-Bangladesh Relations” with the business community in the USA, Muktadhara New York and USA-Bangladesh Business Links in association with the Greater New York Chamber Commerce and FBCCI have organized “Bangladeshi Immigrant Day and Trade Fair 2022” on 23-25 September 2022 in New York, USA. The event has been approved by the Ministry of Commerce Bangladesh and Export Promotion Bureau has also enlisted the Fair in its Calendar. 

 

In association with the Greater NewYork Chamber of Commerce, the Bangladeshi Immigrant Day & Trade Fair 2022 started on 23 rd of September at the Hilton Midtown at 9:00 AM and continued till 4:00 PM. The event then resumed at 6:00 PM on the same day and continued till the 25th of September at 11:00 PM at the Marriott Marquis Times Square.  

 

There were 30 Bangladeshi & NRB companies participating in this fair for showcasing their products & services and one-to-one B2B meeting with potential USA business conglomerates and investors. 15 seminars and networking sessions on business, investment and policy were arranged during 3 days. The presence of honorable ministers, government top officials, policymakers and industry leaders from both countries and their discussions at the various seminars and networking sessions created a positive impact on US-Bangladesh relations and upheld the business & investment facilities in Bangladesh 

An MOU had been signed between The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) and the Greater New York Chamber of Commerce (GNYCC) for recognizing the immense possibilities of promoting economic and commercial cooperation between the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and the United States of America during the event.  

Besides these, there was an exhibition of 50 rare photographs of the Father of The Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and honored 3 American Friends for their contribution to the Bangladesh Liberation War in this event.
